Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar - Extreme Edition Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar - Extreme Edition

I have to say that I am skeptic when it comes to exercise equipment. This product has surpassed my expectations. I bought it on sale for $30 at Big 5 Sporting Goods as it was cheaper than Amazon. Putting it together took less than 6 minutes. I used a monkey wrench instead of the wrench that came in the box. It fitted perfectly on my walk in closet door. I put in some extra packing foam on the edges of the bar to prevent any door markings. I like the variety of exercises that can be done on this pull up bar. I'm 203 pounds and the bar feels sturdy enough for me. My goal is to gain more strength and loose weight. My goal is to be at 180 pounds. Of course I'm also doing 30 minutes of cardio each day on my elliptical machine. I'm also following the recommended diet that came in the Iron Gym instructions. Good luck to everybody that is looking to get in shape and loose weight! :)

Has all the grip positions you need. Fits over the doorframe and is easily removed after you're done working out. Very sturdy and easy to assemble. If you are doing P90X, this is the bar you need. Bear in mind that this is not an alternative to a real chin-up bar. It will wiggle a bit if you swing your body so you must be careful. If you're doing switch grip pullups you can't swing and jerk too much. But that is true with any of these doorframe chin-up bars.

i bought this product from my local wal mart.it was really easy to assemble.took me about 15 minutes....just make sure you have a big enough gap on top of your door way so the bar can lock in place.i had to use my bedroom door instead of my hallway door...i weigh 165 and it held me so dont be scared....its worth the 40$....i bought it for the wide grip and still has 4 other grips to...i love it.i do pullups in between modern warfare 2 matches....LA4LIFE on the psn...for ps3

This product is not cheap by any means. For it to hold a 200 and 250lb guy is pretty impressive! and it fits in ALL my door ways! As far as assembly for this product , you don't need any tools at all! It comes with everything you need to start doing pull ups right away!

Great product! Anyone who is serious about working out should have this relatively cheap piece of equipment in their tool bag. Highly recommended!

is a great product, really works and is easy to mount, however, requires much effort and work.

I would definitely recommend this product. I'm not sure what I expected but I doubted it would live up to the claims. I am pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong.

This is a very good item. I was worried about this item, as I read tons of conflicting reports. I can now officially say that this item works great! It fit my door frame fine, it came with a clip for the back, but I found that I didn't need it(I guess if I swung around back and forth, there is a chance that I can knock the back part off the frame). At first, it felt that the bar was going to come apart(I weigh 180lbs), but it turns out it was all in my head because it did not and I was pleasantly surprised at how something that looks so simple can support my weight. As for everything else; - Instruction Manual - really POOR. The assembly was simple enough, but the instruction manual( a double printed piece of paper folded 8 times) did not cover any steps, just had a picture with screws pointed at a few points(nothing about where the washers that came with the item should go) - Accessories - Wide grip bar - I guess I expected more than I should have. The Wide bar is just what you see in the pictures, does NOT lock/secure onto the frame, it just sits on top of the padded grips - Slings - I have mixed feelings - it works well and great, but I getting it to be the right size involved tearing that velcro and retightening it too many times. Seeing that what it is, I think I might have went for the DIY guerrilla approach and used an old towel and sewn some velcro stips. Overall, great product to own for a pick workout in the middle of the night - the accessories may not add as much value as you would think.

I just received this today, and I like it so far. It took only four bolts to put it together, and I'll admit, I was a little afraid of what this would do to my doorway when I hung on it. But, it held my 240 lbs. body just fine for each of my sets. I think this and the ultimate body press (dip stand) go well together as both work the upper body and are easy to store. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because I'm not sure the deluxe package is worth the money. The wide grip bar just rests on top of the device and I haven't found it to be comfortable. So far, I like the two handles, but if I change my mind I'll update this review. So...I'd definately give the base package five stars. It works great...is easy to hang up (I didn't use the safety tab)and it seems to be very sturdy. Just make sure the doorway you use is wide enough for the rubber cushions to rest on the trim. If the metal hits the trim, it will leave dents and scrap off paint. No problems however is the cushions hit the trim. Update: I've now used this for a week and I've gotten use to the Deluxe bar. I usually do three sets with the deluxe bar and two to three with the regular handles of the basic door gym. So, I like the bar from the deluxe package, but I think it is overpriced. My advice is, if you have the disposable income and really like pull ups, buy the deluxe package. If you are on a budget, stick with the basic door gym and place some rags or other padding over the bare rods of the basic door gym to do your wide grip pull-ups.

Arrived very quickly, and installation was painless. Installation was very simple, and only involved a few screws using the included mini-wrench. Wide grip bar makes workouts feel much better, as the original bar has only either a very narrow chin up grip, or a grip with palms facing each other. Ab straps actually are pretty useful for doing abs, although I prefer to simply hang onto the bar and work my grip at the same time.
