The total gym was a snap to put together. It is easy to use and comes with an exercise instruction manual, very helpful. The only thing I would redesign about it would be the release clip on the pulley system, it isn't the easiest to unattach.

Great product for a starter gym. Very versatile for various exercises for both upper and lower body. Manual is very detailed and informative as to getting you started on a light training program and then works up to a more vigorous workout. Product comes fully assembled, just unfold and insert a tethered pin and your ready to start. I believe this machine would satisfy probably 90% of people just looking to keep trip and some tone. Mine came with two broken wheels which could have been from shipping damage (probably a fluke deal) either way after registering the product it is covered under warranty. Customer service was a bit lacking, seems like Fitness Quest uses a call center to handle their customer service duties. Long story short it took few amount of calls to confirm they actually shipped the replacement wheels. I believe they were on factory backorder from the country of origin, but customer service was un aware. My expectation was to have them in about 6 business days, it turned out to be 15 business days. Either way my broken wheels were replaced under warranty without any fuss as long as the product is registered for the warranty. All in all I would definitely recommend this product and buy it again, although other reviewers say they have gotten 5+ years out of older models with daily use so I am hoping for that.

I've had my TG for almost 2 years. I agree with many folks who said it is not easy to flip and fold to shove it under a bed. I leave mine set up in my bedroom...I've learned how to step over it at night in the dark and it's great for stacking blankets on when not in use. The exercises offer a full range of motion and yes you can feel the burn afterwards. I have fibro, so I must be careful and I can't do anything too strenuous when I'm in a flare. That's where the height adjustment is so great...adjust it to what you can handle on any given day. This fits the bill perfectly. And as others have said, it's fun! You pop on some music and it's almost like not exercising at all. My only complaint is that the wheels are squeaky, but it still works fine. For [...] bucks...it's not a bad investment!

DO NOT buy the Total Gym through Amazon. Mine arrived broken and unusable with 2 of the 4 glide wheels broken into pieces. I have been calling and emailing Amazon for a couple weeks about this and keep getting automated messages saying they will get back to me, and they have not. Now I have had to pay 25% of what it cost to begin with, all over again, to order replacement parts. I will never be ordering through Amazon again, this is ridiculous.

This is my second Total Gym. The Total Gym arrived sooner than the estimated delivery date. Upon setting it up I found some minor problems. First, the pins for the wing attachment were not included, but I had the ones from my previous unit. Upon starting to use, found one of the handle shackles open. Then found one of the cable pulleys had a slight bend which interfered with the rotation of the pulley, I was able to fix by loosening the bolt and spreading the sides of the pulley. So in total the unit works and performs the way it is supposed to but my first Total Gym (which I used for about 9 years) was marginally better.
